Console.fm is a console that organizes the top tracks of premier electronic music DJ's into playlists. Some of the featured artists here include Tiesto, DeadMau5, Avicil, Skrillex and Diplo. Through Console.fm users can listen to music or browse through it based on genre types like Chillout, Dubstep and Mashups. When users start using Console.fm they can simply select the genre that speaks to them and then start listening to the pre-determined playlist. Users can start at the beginning of a playlist or they can skip around through the songs as they wish. Since it's an online app, there is nothing to download, so users can have a set of electronic music playing in the background in another browser window as they are working online. Users can just hit play and start listening to top tracks right away. Console.fm also works via an iPhone app or users can sync their accounts with Facebook so their circle of friends can hear about what one is listening to.

The team for Console.fm are based out of Mountain View, California, which is a tech-hub for many other Internet companies. The site was founded by Alex Baldwin (founded FreeTestbank), Josh Deeden (from OKCupid) and Alex Manelis (also founded FreeTestbank). The site is supported by investments and they launched in July 2011.

Console.fm is completely web-based, so there is no need to download software like there is on Spotify or other music streaming services. Console.fm has been compared to Turntable.fm however Console.fm allows users to chat with their friends about the tunes their listening to. It isn't as advanced as Turntable.fm in some regards (like in hacing an avatar), but the basic dedication to electronic music is there, and users will love the well-designed playlists for their head bopping needs.

Console.fm is super simple in its design and users can immediately access the site, pick a genre and start streaming the music. If a user registers, then they can also mark favorites and start building a history of the tunes they've enjoyed.
